WATERCOLORS
My personal artworks. Paper. Aquarelle
Series: Elusive Universe
In my art practice I explore ways of representing the virtual dimension in human consciousness. I find a holistic figurative expression for the intertwined neural connections in which our impressions, the experience of living a visual culture, are reflected. By exploring the pictorial potential of water paints, I renew abstract painting by endowing its image with sensory, sensual qualities. In my works abstraction is a reflection of a special, organic meta-universe, born in the human mind by numerous moments that are filled with impressions.
In my works I develop a meta-image of perception itself as a transient, unstable process of interaction with the information environment, with the flow of products of visual culture. I strive to capture, to fix in motion the high-speed process of changing virtual reality through color pulsations. Through color I create an image of human consciousness as a fluid and fundamentally open whole. The images reflected in the changeable, fluid space of memory reveal their transformative nature - beyond discernible outlines, in an objectless quality.
I use the material to create an immersive effect in my works, enhancing it with depth and saturation of colors, forming a kind of abstract, transcendental space in which the artist is immersed, as well as the viewer. As if from within the visual field, I form a disparate composition of color patches, at the same time united by a common state of mobility. In this way I help the viewer to establish contact with the virtual reality of perception, to get closer to its mysteries, to the image of the vision itself - to see the true beauty in it.
Water paints in my artistic practice becomes a way of rejecting the direct imitation of life: instead of painting an object environment, I unfold before the viewer an elusive canvas woven from a multitude of neural events - impressions that find visual expression in color and in the performative aspect of painting - that state of fluid, relentless metamorphosis that is inherent in the very nature of this material.
Series: Elusive sencerity
In my work, I approach the edge of the physical. The forms in my paintings balance between the abstract and the literal, the familiar and the supernatural, the absurd and the serious, the dissolution and the self-generation of an aesthetic of imperceptible sincerity. I search for ways to reconcile opposites: logic and emotion, the components of the individual that determine our reality. The technique I have chosen helps me express this search by allowing the forms to take on a unique character each time, between chance and intention in the process of painting. The impossibility of repeating the same image emphasizes the beauty of the moment, reveals the sincerity of the experiment and brings us to the edge of reality. In my works I look at the physical and abstract through fixation. I choose monochrome to focus on the essence of random forms. Nature is characterized by asymmetry, an aesthetic of imperfection, otherness, impermanence. To understand this, man must grasp the essential in the moment of movement. The new materiality is the change of an image in a phase of transformation. In my work I reflect the constant movement of a changing world
